Armed Forces at highest level of vigilance, readiness: minister

CAIRO - 31 October 2018: Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki said Egypt’s Armed Forces are at the highest level of vigilance and readiness to maintain the country’s sovereignty, safeguard its borders and confront whoever attempts to undermine its security and stability.

Zaki made the remarks during his meeting with a number of commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Air Defense Forces.

The defense minister conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to the Air Defense personnel and his appreciation of the efforts and sacrifices they have been making to maintain the country’s security and stability.

In this regard, the minister lauded the servicemen's excellent performance at the rocket-firing drills, code-named "Heaven protectors".

Zaki also greeted the martyrs of the Armed Forces and police who sacrificed their lives during their continued clashes with terrorists, noting in this regard that he is proud of the success achieved in the Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018.

The meeting was attended by Armed Forces’ Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid and top military brass.
