CAIRO - 28 October 2018: Magdy Yacoub Heart Foundation will establish a branch in the New Administrative Capital to provide charity services for unprivileged children, working as another mega scientific research center equivalent to its headquarters in Aswan.
Dr. Magdy Yacoub told media that his charity foundation has gained excellent reputation in Africa and the world. He added that the New Administrative Capital branch will be constructed in the same design as the one in Aswan.
Yacoub revealed that his foundation is cooperating with Monir Armanius Research Center (MARC) - specialized in pharmaceuticals - in multiple research projects, especially on hardening of the arteries.
Sir Magdy Yacoub, 83, is an Egyptian-British cardiothoracic surgeon and professor at the Imperial College London. In 2014, Yacoub received the Order of Merit for his achievements that include establishing heart transplantation in the United Kingdom, establishing the 'Ross Procedure' or pulmonary autograft, and pioneering the modern arterial switch operation.
