USAID starts project to establish 20 university centers for vocational development - Egypt Today

CAIRO - 24 October 2018: Egypt and China discussed on Wednesday boosting cooperation between the two countries' universities.

This came in a meeting between Cairo University President Mohamed Othman El Khesht and a delegation of Beijing municipality.

Khesht said the university welcomes constant cooperation with China, saying Cairo University is looking forward to setting up joint university degrees with Chinese higher educational institutions.

The secretary of the educational committee at China Communist Party, one of the members of the visiting Chinese delegation, expressed appreciation for the role played by Cairo University in boosting higher education cooperation with China.

He made clear that the number of Chinese-speaking students in Egypt increased after the opening of Confucius Institute at Cairo University.

Talks tackled the possibility of offering free scholarships to Egyptian students to study in China.
