CAIRO - 15 October 2018: Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree approving to sign a comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation agreement with Egypt to include all levels.

The decree consists of endorsing proposals on the agreement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and that are set in collaboration with executive authority institutions. The decree was published on the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI).

Egypt to host 'Defenders of Friendship 3' military drills with Russia

CAIRO - 15 October 2018: Egypt will host the joint drills "Defenders of Friendship 3" of Egyptian and Russian paratroopers from October 24 to 26. The two countries' paratroopers will exchange training experiences on a number of combat activities, including Special Forces' training, counter-terrorism tactics, freeing hostages and storming facilities based on the latest modern training systems. The training comes as part of the cooperation between Russian and Egyptian Armed Forces.




Sisi arrived in Moscow on Oct.15 for a three-day visit. The president will hold another meeting with Putin on Wednesday in Sochi. Both leaders will resume consultations and talks about regional and international topics.

Meeting Eurasian Economic Commission's chairman is the first Sisi's activity in Russia

CAIRO - 15 October 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet Monday with Eurasian Economic Commission's Chairman Tigran Sowreni Sargsyan. This comes during Sisi's three-day official visit to Russia. The Eurasian Customs Union is a customs union which consists of all the Member states of the Eurasian Economic Union including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.




President Sisi is expected to meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, and other senior Russian officials to discuss mechanisms of boosting commercial and economic relations between the two countries.

Sisi will deliver a speech before the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, the Federation Council, to be the first foreign leader to do so.

On December 11, 2017, Putin visited Egypt for the second time since Sisi was sworn into office in May 2014; the visit came upon President Sisi's invitation in September 2017.

In February 2015, the Russian president visited Egypt and attended the signature of a number of deals between Cairo and Moscow.
