Transport minister to open 1st part of 3rd stage of Cairo Metro Line 3 in 2021

CAIRO - 15 October 2018: Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said on Monday the first section of the third stage of Cairo Metro Line 3 will be opened in December of 2021 from Attaba to Kit Kat.

The section includes four stations; Gamal Abdel Nasser, Maspero, Zamalek and Kit Kat, the minister said during a meeting with the company in charge of setting up this section.

The third stage, which stretches from Attaba till Cairo University, is 17.7 kilometers long and includes 15 tunnel and at grade stations.

It will be carried out over three stages.

The first phase will connect Attaba Station with the already existing Gamal Abdel Nasser Station through 26th of July Street then it will continue on its way onto northern of Maspero and run under both branches of the Nile passing through Zamalek island at Zamalek Station and ending at Kit Kat Station under the Kit Kat Square.
