CAIRO – 9 October 2018: The Ministry of Tourism will launch an Egyptian-international alliance aiming to promote for tourism in Egypt; the ministry has been working on the establishment of the alliance for two months.
The alliance comprises of companies with successful experiences in promoting tourism in many countries, including the leading advertising and marketing communications agency, Middle East Communication network (MCN) and the American publicly traded advertising company, Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (IPG).

Synergy Company represents Egypt in the alliance in partnership with MCN.
In this regard, Minister of Tourism Rania al-Mashat stressed during a press conference held on Oct.8 that the Ministry of Tourism has planned to launch promotion and advertising campaigns for Egypt.

She added that the ministry assigned an Egyptian partner to provide marketing tools and contract with international companies with successful experiences in boosting tourism.
Mashat confirmed that the Egyptian-international alliance gives the ministry the freedom to continue with or withdraw from the alliance.
The minister pointed out that the alliance prepares for Egypt’s participation in London’s World Travel Market exhibition (WTM), set to be held from Nov. 5 to 7, 2018, referring that Egypt's pavilion will be totally different this year, as it will be based on digital transformation, which comes in line with the WTM’s vision.
“We want to change the Egyptians’ image abroad by shedding light on how they love culture, arts and sports. In addition, the promotional campaign will focus on the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), which will include all Tutankhamun’s artifacts, in 2020.”
In the same context, Executive Director of IPG Sahar el-Zoghbi referred that seven to nine markets will be targeted to promote for tourism in Egypt, including Germany, France, Germany, England, Italy, India, Russia, and China.

Previously, The Ministry of Tourism announced that a promotional campaign for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) entitled “GEM2020” as part of its 2019 campaign “People to People” will be launched in October, to promote for tourism in Egypt.
The campaign aims to build bridges between the world’s countries and the Egyptian people to experience the humanitarian, historical, cultural, and artistic sides of Egypt.
“People to People” will mainly shed light on the humanitarian side of Egypt through presenting its culture and the talents of its youth.
Mashat further remarked that in the upcoming period the ministry will organize entertainment events and festivals and will invite well-known international figures to Egypt, stressing that the Ministry of Tourism has developed various ways of promotion using social media, which is the most important marketing tool nowadays.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Tourism launched the e-Visa service for around 50 countries, simplifying the process of obtaining a travel authorization to Egypt.
The single or multiple e-Visa for Egypt can be obtained through filling an online application without the need to visit the embassy, allowing its holder to visit Egypt for a maximum duration of 30 days and is valid for a period of 3 months.
“To apply for a visa, the applicant will need to complete the online application of Egypt's visa so that he/she may receive the approved e-Visa via email,” according to e-Visa website.
Promoting tourism to Egypt, a digital TV channel, named Experience Egypt, has been launched by the Ministry of Tourism on Instagram’s view-platform IGTV.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the channel will feature a host of documentaries on Egypt’s must-visit tourist attractions and cherished cultural heritage to be viewed by millions around the world.
“The Ministry of Tourism is currently looking into launching more promotional campaigns across the most influential and focused platforms to spread its scope across wider populace,” the statement added.
