CAIRO – 27 May 2017: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria condemned the terrorist attack in Minya that has killed 28 in Upper Egypt's Minya on Friday, expressing his solidarity and condolences to the families of the victims.
Tawadros described in a TV statement the perpetrators of such despicable attacks as “deluded youth,” adding, “there are no proper words to describe this tragic and painful act.”
The Pope asserted, “The Egyptian social fabric will not be affected by these terror incidents,” calling on moderate Muslims to stand against extreme ideologies that exist in Egypt.
"Egypt’s power is inspired from the people, as it wages a massive war against terrorism," Tawadros concluded.
