CAIRO - 27 September 2018: Uganda's water and environment minister hailed cooperation with Egypt in all fields, especially in the irrigation sphere.

Also, he commended the efforts exerted by the Egyptian Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry to support the system of water resources management and irrigation in Uganda, through raising the capabilities of Ugandan workers and making good use of Cairo's great experience on how to avoid flood risks.

He made the remarks during a celebration held in the Ugandan town of Kasese to mark the completion of the first phase of the flood risk management project, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Atti.

For his part, Abdel Atti stressed Egypt's keenness on continuing technical cooperation with Uganda, heralding the start of the second phase of this important project, in addition to building five rainwater harvesting reservoirs in different parts of the African country.
