lauded the success achieved by the “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) initiative in Egypt.

"The Schools of Future Partnership Initiative is one of the fundamental pillars of cultural and educational activities. We work in Egypt and it is an indispensable bridge between our two communities. Thousands of male and female students, mostly Egyptians, benefit from activities to support German language education and other educational data in more than 30 schools inside and outside Cairo", the German ambassador said in a statement marking the 10th anniversary of launching this educational initiative.

The celebration is organized by the Goethe Institute in Cairo, the Central Administration of German Schools Abroad and the Commission German for Cultural Exchange.

The initiative is meant to promote the German language.

The Egyptian-German Education Conference will be held at the Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule in Dokki on Friday, where a large number of partner schools taking part.

Heidrun Tempel, German Commissioner for Culture and Educational Policy at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take part in the conference.

Deutsche Schule der Borromäerinnen in Cairo will hold a concert on Saturday to be performed by mezzo-soprano Jala Sameh Hadidi, one of the graduates of the school.

Swedish tenor singer Johan Vogel and well-known pianist David Hiles will also take part in the concert.

The PASCH initiative is one of the initiatives of the German Foreign Ministry that was launched in cooperation with the Central Administration of German Schools Abroad, the Goethe Institute, the German Commission for Scientific Exchange and the Educational Exchange Authority of the Permanent Conference of German Ministers of Education.

More than 1,800 partner schools around the world are taking part in the initiative which is meant to increase the interest of young people in knowing more about modern Germany and its society, to establish important and long-term relationships with Germany and to help schools, teachers and students at the same time exchange ideas and foster cooperation.
