CAIRO – 24 September 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi invited Monday Kuwaiti Emir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah to attend the World Youth Conference set to be held in November in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Egypt's Ambassador to Kuwait Tarek al-Koni called on Kuwaiti youth and distinguished young people specialized in entrepreneurship, arts and culture to participate in the second edition of the World Youth Forum that will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh from November 2 to 6.

The Egyptian ambassador said that the conference represents an international forum that brings together a selection of the world's youth to present their ideas with an aim to issue recommendations and initiatives in the presence of leaders and intellectuals from all over the world.

The Egyptian Embassy is in contact with the Kuwaiti authorities to guarantee a unique Kuwaiti participation in the conference, Koni said.

He pointed out that the conference has received applications from more than 35,000 young people who are willing to attend the forum from 156 countries worldwide, noting that the conference will bear costs of their participation.

Egypt and Kuwait have good relations at many levels; in January 2017, Egypt and Kuwait signed in Cairo a legal and judicial cooperation agreement on civil, commercial, criminal and personal status issues, as well as on the transfer of sentenced persons.

Kuwait has been backing the Egyptian state at all levels since the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Also, Kuwait took part in Egypt's Economic Development Conference (EEDC) held in Sharm El-Sheikh in March 2015, which aimed at boosting the Egyptian economy.
