Egyptians in New York welcome President Sisi and chant for him - Press photo
CAIRO - 23 September 2018: The Egyptian community in USA gathered around the residence of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in New York to welcome him during his visit to participate in the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The Egyptians carried flags and Sisi's pictures, with some of them wearing T-shirts with pictures of the President and banners in Arabic and English.
"We support Egypt, we support Sisi, we love Egypt, long live Egypt, and the President," Egyptians chanted in front of Sisi's residence in New York.
The Egyptian community in the US will hold several welcome rallies for President Sisi in front of his residence and during his speech at the United Nations.
President Sisi arrived in New York on Friday evening to participate in the UN General Assembly meetings.
This is Sisi’s fifth participation in the UNGA since he assumed office in June 2014. Since then, Egypt’s foreign policies have witnessed significant change regionally and globally.
The president will deliver Egypt’s statement to the General Assembly, which addresses the country’s future vision and stances on regional and international issues.
Additionally, the Egyptian statement will highlight Egypt's role to maintain international peace and security and its continuous efforts to fight terrorism.
