Azhar medical convoy in Bir al Abd examines 3,000 patients

CAIRO – 12 September 2018: A medical convoy from Al Azhar continued on Wednesday its medical examinations of residents of the North Sinai city of Bir al Abd.

The convoy – which is due to wrap up work by the weekend - has so far conducted medical examinations on 3,000 patients and surgeries on 80 others.

This falls within the framework of a cooperation protocol between Al Azhar and the Health Ministry.

Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayeb gave directives several months ago to send medical, relief and preaching convoys to border and remote governorates within the framework Al Azhar’s social, humanitarian and educational role.
