Sir Geoffrey Adams new British ambassador to Cairo

CAIRO - 5 September 2018: Sir Geoffrey Adams KCMG has been appointed as the U.K's ambassador to Egypt in succession to Mr John Casson CMG, according to a Wednesday press release by the Foreign Office.

Sir Geoffrey will take up his appointment in September 2018. He previously served as the ambassador to The Hague and Tehran, and was part of diplomatic missions to Paris, Jerusalem, Cape Town and Jeddah, and assumed several positions at the Foreign Office

He was the deputy head of mission in Cairo in 1998-2001.
