CAIRO – 24 May 2017: Senior ISIS “minister of war”, Abu Musab al-Masri, was killed in Syrian army operations to the east of Aleppo, Syrian state-run TV said on Wednesday.
The Syrian regime’s military killed a number of ISIS militants including Saudis and Iraqis, according to military sources to the Syrian state TV.
Former ISIS “minister of war”, identified as Abu Omar al-Shishani, was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Syria last year, the Pentagon said earlier according to Reuters.
ISIS faces several military campaigns in northern Syria, by the Syrian regime’s army backed by the Russians, U.S.-backed Syrian Kurdish forces, and Syrian rebels’ forces supported by Turkey.
