CAIRO – 29 August 2018: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced Tuesday that the death toll among Egyptian pilgrims rose to 59 as another pilgrim passed away in Medina.
The recent death case was for an elderly woman called Bahia Mohamed, 77, from Delta’s governorate of Kafr El-Sheikh. She was announced dead due to circulatory and respiration collapse, according to Amr Kandil, a medical advisor in the Egyptian mission in Saudi Arabia.
He added that Egypt is coordinating with authorities to issue a death certificate for the pilgrim.
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. Hajj season started this year on August 20 and ended on August 25, 2018.
