RAMALLAH - 21 August 2018: Nearly 100,000 worshippers performed Eid al-Adha prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday, said Feras al Debs, the media official at the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf.

The worshippers included citizens from Arab towns inside Israel while Palestinian Prime Minister Ramy al Hamdallah, on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, laid a wreath on the tomb of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on the occasion of Eid.

Hamdallah greeted the Palestinians on the holy occasion and called on Hamas group to honor president Abbas' initiative to enable the unity government to assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian prime minister pointed out that the US administration has already started implementing the so-called "deal of the century" after recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, relocating the US embassy to the holy city, cutting aid to the Palestinians, attempting to close UNRWA offices and separating Gaza from the West Bank.

He said the Palestinian Authority, despite the pressures on Abbas, is still committed to the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
