CAIRO – 23 May 2017: The Giza Criminal Court adjourned Tuesday the retrial of former Tourism and Housing Ministers Zuhair Garana and Ahmed al-Maghrabi over corruption charges until September 19.
The Mubarak-era ministers face charges of profiteering and illegally selling state-owned lands in the resorts of Hurghada.
In 2013, Garana and Maghrabi were acquitted of all corruption charges. However, the prosecution appealed against the court ruling in 2015, and the Cassation Court ordered their re-trial.
