CAIRO – 16 August 2018: Yemen’s Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani criticized Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Lise Grande for taking sides with the Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime, according to Alarabya.

Eryani criticized the UN mission’s dependence on misleading information which is provided by the coup militias, without referring to the Yemeni legitimate government.

He stressed that the Houthi militias deliberately target civilians directly in an attempt to influence the local and international opinion, Alarabya reported.

Grande, who insists on performing her tasks from Sanaa, despite the calls of the legitimate government for her to move to Aden, had met during the past few days with Mahdi al-Mashat, the head of the so-called Supreme Political Council of the Houthi militia, one of the wanted figures by the Arab coalition backing the Yemeni legitimate government.

It is noteworthy that several calls have been issued to international organizations to move from Sanaa to the temporary capital of Yemeni legitimacy in Aden, amid accusations that they are being blackmailed and under threat by the militia.

The UN has recently chosen its former humanitarian coordinator in Iraq, Lise Grande, to assume the same task in Yemen, succeeding Jamie McGoldrick, who was also accused by the Yemeni legitimate government of being biased towards the Houthi militias.
