6 killed, injured in road accident west of Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA -6 Aug 2018: One person was killed and five others were injured in a road accident involving nine vehicles on the desert road, west of Alexandria, on Monday.

A driver of a trailer truck carrying sand saw a truck carrying tomatoes overturning on the road and while trying to avoid collision he lost control of the steering wheel and was diverted to the sharp right. Nine private vehicles, a microbus, a truck and an ambulance crashed one after the other on the road as a result.

One unidentified person was killed and five others sustained injuries and fractures.
The body of the dead was carried to Ameriya General Hospital morgue and the injured were rushed to the same hospital for treatment.
The traffic was affected for around 20 minutes
