CAIRO - 30 July 2018: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Supply Minister Aly Moselhi have agreed to coordinate action to implement an "Adahi Sukuk" project.
The two ministries will issue the sukuk, worth 1,500 pounds each, in cooperation with the Social Solidarity Ministry.
Speaking at a joint press conference after signing the "Adahi Sukuk" protocol Monday, Gomaa said accounts at the Central Bank of Egypt (CIB), the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr will be used to deposit values of the sukuk.
Under the protocol, Adahi (excess meat of sacrifice during Greater Bairam feast) should be packed and transported to governorates under the supervision of the Supply Ministry, Gomaa made it clear.
The meat should be distributed at the different Awqaf directorates, he added.
