ALEXANDRIA - 25 July 2018: President of Alexandria University Essam el Kurdi and UK Consul General Wendy Freeman witnessed Wednesday the signing of an international cooperation program between the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University, and the International Academy for Advanced Research and Studies (IARS), the executive body of UK's Pearson foundation.
Dean of Faculty of Commerce El Sayyed el Seyfi and Regional Director of IARS Karim el Safaty signed the agreement.
In a press statement, Kurdi said the agreement with Alexandria University is the first of its kind for Egyptian universities as it aims at promoting the skills of the students and increasing their sense of creativity.
Under the agreement, students of the faculty of commerce will be allowed to study for two years only in Egypt and will complete their study in one of 120 British universities included in the agreement, he added.
Meanwhile, Seyfi said the agreement comes as part of a framework agreement between Alexandria University and UK's Pearson, noting that it will open the door for Egyptian students to reach new horizons in the labor market.
Fees of the new scholarship system will be announced soon and it will be affordable by all students, he added.
