CAIRO – 14 July 2018: Egypt’s new government, headed by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, will receive a vote of confidence today by the Parliament.
First deputy Parliament Speaker Al-Sayed Al-Sherif, head of an ad hoc committee in charge of preparing a report on the government statement that was delivered by Madbouli before the Parliament on July 3, will be presenting the committee’s report on the statement.
The report recommended a vote of confidence for the new government as “the government program puts the life standards of citizens and improving the quality of life as a priority.”
The committee also stressed the necessity of a periodic review of the achievements and the progress of the new program; it also recommended the necessity of aiding poor families by setting productive projects.
“We asked the government to present to the committee a quarterly periodical report on the progress of the implementation of the five programs that were included in the statement,” Al-Sherif said.
On Thursday, Madbouli said in press remarks that a working team was formed to follow up the implementation of the government program.
Al-Sherif also added that the majority of the committee’s members said the government’s new policy included five programs that could lead to “tangible” improvement in economic and living conditions for Egyptian citizens.
Madbouli was sworn in as a prime minister on June 14; in his statement before the Parliament on July 3, he said his new government’s program firmly focuses on strengthening national security, implement social protection programs, boost economic development, raise productivity rates and improve the standards of living.
