CAIRO – 10 July 2018: Egypt was ranked 25th most powerful country in the world according to the US News and World Report’s annual report of 2018.
Egypt was selected by the media company as the 42nd overall best country, surpassing Peru, Morocco, Bahrain, Tunisia, Jordan and Lebanon.
U.S. News & World Report worked with partners at WPP’s brand strategy firm BAV Consulting and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to identify a set of 65 country attributes - terms that could be used to describe a country and that are also relevant to the success of a modern nation.
Attributes by nation were presented in a survey where participants assessed how closely they associated one with the other.
“One of the world’s earliest and greatest civilizations,” US News described Egypt in the report. “The country is a literary center for the Arab world and art forms such as music combine Arab, African, Mediterranean and Western elements.”
The top 25 countries come as part of the media organization’s annual “Best Countries” report; it evaluated 80 countries based on the responses from 21,000 people.
The study analyzes a number of features to determine the ranking of a certain country, including adventure, citizenship, heritage, movers, cultural influence, power, quality of life, and Entrepreneurship.
As for overall best countries in the world, the top five were Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan.
