CAIRO – 18 May 2017: Saudi Arabia approved four agreements with Egypt on Thursday, in the fields of agriculture, taxation, maritime transport and civil defense, MENA reported quoting Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Kattan.

The agreements include a cooperation pact in the field of maritime transport and ports, and a convention to avoid double taxation and prevent tax evasion with respect to income taxes.

The government also approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to promote cooperation in agricultural fields; as well as another MOU between the two countries’ Ministries of Interior regarding civil defense.

The government’s approval, Kattan said, comes in light of a qualitative shift in the continuous cooperation between the two brotherly countries in all fields. He added that the agreements confirm the development witnessed in the Saudi-Egyptian relations.
