CAIRO – 1 July 2018: Egyptian communities abroad celebrated the fifth anniversary of the June 30 revolution that ended the one-year reign of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated president.

In press remarks, member of the Egyptian community in Kuwait, Youssif el Eliemy, said that June 30 Revolution saved the entire region from the threats posed by the Brotherhood.

He said: “The outbreak of the revolution stopped the plot of getting the country rolling down a steep slope into a quagmire of terrorism and chaos where many neighboring countries fell.”

Eliemy stressed that the Egyptian regime, under the leadership of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, has succeeded to achieve stability at all levels, pointing out that the economic reforms had to take place.

He further added that, during the revolution and the years following it, Egypt faced and got over the risks facing its path towards development and that the June 30 Revolution triggered a sense of relief among the Gulf countries, given the closeness of the ruling regimes to the Egyptian regime.

Gergis Toss, president of the Egyptian Association in Frankfurt and executive member of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Communities in Germany, stressed that the Egyptians in Germany were all in favor of the June 30 revolution.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the June Revolution, he stressed that the prevailing sympathy with the Muslim Brotherhood in German society has been confronted.

Over the past few years, Egyptians living in Germany have been exerting lots of efforts to convey the true account of the situation in Egypt to the German society, and to boost the cultural exchange between the two countries. Recently, a cooperation agreement was inked between the governor of Frankfurt and high-ranking German figures on one side and the governor of Cairo on the other.

Eman Abbas, secretary general of the Egyptian community in Greece, said they would celebrate the June 30 Revolution on Saturday in front of the Egyptian Embassy in Greece.

She stressed that the June 30 Revolution has come to rescue the Egyptians, explaining that the members of the community renew their confidence in the political leadership.

In this context, Ismail Ahmed Ali, chairman of the General Federation of Egyptians said: "The revolution restored the freedom and dignity of the citizens of the homeland, and foiled the evil plots that aimed at diving Egypt and other Arab countries, and that Egypt stood firm against its enemies thanks to the unity of its people."
