Nasser Fahmy also took the oath as deputy intelligence chief, spokesperson of Egyptian presidency Basam Radi said in official statement released Thursday.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Sisi met with the newly appointed intelligence chief and his deputy, according to Radi's statement.
"The president stressed on the necessity to continue intelligence’s efforts to protect Egypt’s security against all dangers surrounding it, praising their efforts to preserve the national security among the region’s instability," Radi said.
