Call for societal dialogue on amendment to Criminal Penal Code

CAIRO - 17 May 2017: The Arab Organization of Human Rights (AOHR) calls for holding a societal dialogue regarding amendments to the Criminal Penal Code along with other related laws, Executive Secretary of the Arab Organization of Human Rights Alaa Shalaby said.
The call also suggests holding consultations between parliamentarians, professors of Law and civil society organizations on amendments that would be a part of the process of reviewing a bill on the Criminal Penal Code.

In a statement, Shalaby added that the National Conference of developing Penal Legislation recommended an urgent activation to constitution articles related to the amendment of the law of AOHR.

He clarified that AOHR will issue next week a recommendations report and will be submitted to the concerned bodies of legislation.
