Last May, Egypt congratulated the Iraqi people and government for completing their parliamentary election successfully, through an official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Egyptian side praised the efforts exerted by the Iraqi police and soldiers for securing the election.
