PARIS - 18 June 2018: French President Emmanuel Macron had on Sunday a phone call with head of the Government of National Accord of Libya Fayez al-Sarraj to discuss elections in Libya, political and security conditions and combating illegal immigration.

They assessed the security and political developments in Libya after the international conference on Libya, held in Paris on May 29, according to the Élysée palace's statement.

Macron renewed his support to the Libyan authorities with regard to holding elections before the end of this year, added the statement.

Both parties mulled ways of controlling flows of migration between Libya and Europe and combating human trafficking gangs.
