CAIRO – 15 June 2018: The newly-appointed Premier Mostafa Madbouli stressed that the new Cabinet will be an aide to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to continue the development spree of the country at such a critical time.
Following his swearing-in to President Sisi, Madbouli immediately headed to the Cabinet’s headquarter to pursue the duties of his new post.
“I was honored to be a member of the government of ex-Prime Minister Sherif Ismail. He is a great man in every sense of the word,” Madbouli added in press remarks, contending that the next two years will be a breakthrough and will represent a new stage.
Madbouli further stressed that healthcare, education, and administrative reform, re-building the Egyptian state and completing the economic reform program are priorities of the government in the coming period based on President Sisi’s instructions.
Along with the business sector, he pointed out that President Sisi has paid special attention to the national projects that provide three million job opportunities and serve 13 to 15 million.
During President Sisi’s meeting with Madbouli, Sisi stressed the need to attain the fullest cooperation and coordination between all ministries and state agencies to ensure optimal implementation of the government’s programs and plans, according to presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi.
He also called on the new government to commit to the rationalization of expenditures and to wisely govern the state’s resources for the benefit of the Egyptians people, as well as to press ahead with executing the national projects and establishing a national database.
He also stressed the need to continue combatting corruption in all its forms and to hold the implicated and those responsible for corruption accountable and to continuously support the national programs dedicated to the youth to prep them to take up the leadership of the country.
Egypt's new Cabinet has sworn-in Thursday 12 new ministers. For the first time in Egyptian history, the new Cabinet has a total of eight female ministers. Madbouli has appointed two new female ministers, in addition to the existing six in the outgoing Cabinet.
