Cairo University receives 9 state awards

CAIRO – 13 June 2018: Cairo University was announced to receive nine state awards in different fields in the annual celebration held on Tuesday June 12 by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education.

The National Research Center came in the second place after Cairo University by receiving five awards. Each of Ain Shams and Zakazik universities received four awards, sharing the third place.

Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, Alexandria and Mansoura Universities occupied the fourth place by receiving three awards each. And finally, Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute was honored with two awards.

President of Cairo University, Mohamed Osman al-Khosht, welcomed his university’s honoring, affirming in a statement issued on Wednesday, that the selection came as a result of the university’s continuous hard work and efforts

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology granted this year 49 awards for different educational and research entities. The Value of the state awards reached LE 6 million.

Several state awards were grated on Tuesday night by several ministries to numerous people and organizations in different fields and specializations.

The Ministry of Culture also hosted another ceremony to announce the state’s encouragement awards. Minster Enas Abdel Dayem gave awards in the fields of Arts, culture, social science and economic and legal sciences.
