CAIRO – 8 June 2018: A wave of hot weather hits Egypt until Monday. Temperatures will rise gradually starting Friday, weather will be moderate in north coasts of the country, while hot in Cairo, Upper and Lower Egypt with a slight decline in temperatures during the night, according to Egypt’s Meteorological Authority.

Clouds are low and medium in northern Egypt. Winds are moderate northwesterly, active in Cairo, Upper Egypt, and South Sinai, and also in Gulf Suez which may cause navigation disturbance.

The Mediterranean Sea will be light to mild, with a wavelength of one meter to 1.5 meters and northwesterly surface winds.

The Red Sea will be moderate to turbulent, with a wavelength of two meters to 2.5 meters and northwesterly surface winds.

The capital of Egypt will see highs of 39°C and lows of 25°C.

Weather in the cities along the Mediterranean coast of Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh will see highs of 31-30°C and lows of 22-20°C. The weather forecast for Aswan and Luxor will see highs of 44°C and lows of 27-26°C.

Temperature grades in some governorates are (in degrees Celsius); Port Said (31 day, 24 night), Suez, (39 day, 22 night), Asyut (42 day, 23 night), Qena (43 day, 25 night), Al-Minya (39 day, 24 night), Sohag (43 day, 24 Night).
