CAIRO - 15 May 2017: Attorney General Nabil Sadek had referred the Finance Minister Deputy for Tax Affairs and three others to a criminal court over charges of asking for bribes, state-owned news agency MENA reported on Monday.

The accused include the Minister’s Deputy Tarek Farag Abdel Wahab; CEO of Start Light Travel Co. Mahmoud Fakhrani al-Razi; Tax Authority official Amal Abdel Wahab; and accountant Gamal Mahamoud Baraka.

According to the initial investigations, carried out by Homeland Prosecution, the minister’s deputy asked the CEO for 4 million EGP ($221,000) as a bribe to facilitate the measures required for allocating a piece of land in Dabaa coastal city to the company owner.

All of the people charged confessed their crime, according to the investigations.
