CAIRO – 15 May 2017: The Cypriot Attorney General, Costas J. Clerides, arrived in Cairo on Monday on a three-day visit to Egypt to discuss strengthening judicial cooperation relations between Egypt and Cyprus.
During his visit, Clerides, heading a delegation from Larnaca, is set to meet with a number of officials, including the Egyptian Attorney General Nabil Sadek.
The meeting will tackle supporting “cooperation between the two countries to combat terrorism and all types of cross-border crimes,” as well as activating the memorandum of judicial cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus.
Last June, Sadek visited Larnaca, Cyprus upon investigations in the incident of the hijacker, Seif el-Din Mostafa, who forced a domestic Egyptian plane to divert to Cyprus in March 2016, while falsely claiming to be wearing an explosive belt.
