CAIRO - 5 June 2018: Head of the Supreme Council of Media Regulation (SCM) Makram Mohamed Ahmed on Monday sent an official letter to the Saudi Minister of Information protesting a Middle East Broadcasting Center (MBC) offensive against late president Gamal Abdel Nasser.
A scene of Saudi series Al Asouf (Winds of Change) showed a photo of Nasser being burnt.
"It represents an insult to a great Egyptian and Arab symbol", the complaint read.
He called on the Saudi minister to remove the scene and to issue firm directives to the channel as well as production companies to stop offending Arab symbols.
