Egypt’s Embassy in Belgrade awards winning Serbian schools in competition

CAIRO - 3 June 2018: Egyptian Ambassador in Belgrade, Amr al Jowaily, awarded on Sunday Serbian children, who have won the competition “Egypt in the Eyes of Children of the World”.

During a ceremony held by Egyptian Embassy in Belgrade to honor Serbian schools participating in the competition “Egypt in the Eyes of Children of the World” held in 2017, Ambassador of Egypt in Belgrade, Jowaily, handed prizes to 17 competitors.

The competitors were from the Miutinovi and Mladost schools, who won five gold medals, three silver medals, and nine certificates of appreciation. Teachers and supervisors were also awarded Egyptian souvenirs.

In this regard, Jowaily congratulated the winning children praising their work, which reflected their creativity and their vision of Egypt’s history and civilization.

“You reflect the future vision of Egyptian-Serbian relations, which complement the efforts of the embassy in documenting the history of relations between the two countries,” he said.

He urged the representatives of the participating schools to encourage students to participate in the upcoming competitions, entitled "Egypt in the Eyes of Children of the World 2018” and "Photography Contest", which aims to encourage children to express themselves by observing nature, people and life through photography.

“Handmade Games Competition” seeks to discover talented children and develop their creative skills.

He also called on the participating children to focus on celebrating 110 years of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Serbia.

Previously, Egypt’s Embassy in Belgrade, in cooperation with several Arab ambassadors, contributed in launching the first Serbian-Arab Friendship Day during a cultural ceremony at the National Library of Serbia on April 2.

Jowaily revealed that the Council of Arab Ambassadors agreed to donate 1,000 books to create an Arab pavilion at the Serbian National Library. “We plan to publish a joint book entitled: 'Serbia by Arab eyes' amid a wider series of activities aimed at strengthening relations between Serbia and the Arab world in the coming years," he added.
