CAIRO - 15 May 2017: Children will be provided with anti-hepatitis C drug, Harvoni, by the Egyptian government after its approval by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), stated professor of Liver and Digestive Health at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, Hisham al-Khayat on Sunday

The Harvoni drug will be administered as syrup for children aged between 2-6 years, while children between 12-17 years will take the drug in tablet form, according to Khayat.

“Children between 12-17 years can take Harvoni safely, after its approval by the FDA, the National Committee for Hepatitis Virus and the Health Ministry,” Khayat said.
