Egypt’s stability, security affects world: Chinese consul

CAIRO – 29 May 2018: "Egypt is a very important country in the Middle East and Africa, and its stability and security affects the world”, said Chinese Consulate-General in Alexandria Xu Nanshan from Alexandria on Tuesday.

Nanshan said China supports Egypt in several fields, especially in the fight against terrorism, to achieve its security and stability.

He also said that the relations between China and Egypt are now at their best, praising the Egyptian government’s economic reform policy, which is encouraging Chinese investors to establish factories and institutions in Egyptian cities.

“For the trade relations, the China consulate in Alexandria held several forums to boost trade exchange between the two countries, such as the Egyptian-Chinese Business Forum at the Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria,” he said.

“China is keen to import more of its products from Egypt and we are keen to support the Egyptian economy and develop local products. Egypt also imports many of its products from China,” he noted.

Nanshan clarified that the trade between the two countries rose by about 30 percent compared to last year, and he expected an increase in the volume of Egyptian exports to China in the coming period.
