Sisi invites Somali counterpart to visit Egypt

CAIRO – 12 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi invited his Somali counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed to visit Egypt, according to a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet on Friday.

In the sideline of an international conference on Somali national security in London, Mohamed met with Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, who delivered Sisi’s invitation, discussing the bilateral relations on Friday, the statement added.

In his speech at the conference on Thursday, Ismail

stressed

that the conference aims at supporting Somalia in retrieving its territorial integrity and rebuilding a unified army.
