CAIRO – 12 May 2017: Coptic citizens and priests attended the inauguration of a mosque in the Delta’s Sharqia, along with their Muslim counterparts in a show of solidarity on Friday.
Sharqia governor Khaled Saeed and a number of parliamentarians, including Fayka Fahim, also attended the inauguration in Zagazig City. The al-Kheir mosque was built by Sharqia businessman Ali al-Aseel at a cost of 5 million EGP.
The two-storey 500-m2 mosque will contribute to spreading “moderate Islamic ideology,” Saeed said.
