MADRID - 15 May 2018: Madrid announced Tuesday it will not move its embassy to occupied East Jerusalem in conformity with the UN Security Council resolutions, particularly no. 478 and called for self-restraint and avoiding any step that could lead to more victims on the Gaza Strip borders.

The Spanish government, in a statement carried by Al Ghad Al Arabi news channel, warned the Israeli authorities of the use of force against the unarmed Palestinians, asserting that the two-state solution is the best means of meeting these aspirations.

The government called for the dire need to rescue the peace negotiations so that the two parties could reach a political solution that is supported by the international community.

The issue of Jerusalem should be a central one in these negotiations, the Spanish government stressed.
