Voting in Iraq goes soomthly, high turnout reported

BAGHDAD - 12 May 2018: The parliamentary elections in Iraq, which started on Saturday, are going smoothly, said Chairman of the Iraqi High Electoral Commission Maan al Hitawi.

A high turnout has been reported in the voting, Hitawi told Al Arabiya Al Hadath news channel.

The move shows Iraqi voters' utmost keenness on widely participating in the vote, he said.

No complaints have been filed so far regarding lists of voters, he said, adding the commission works for facilitating the electoral process and removing all obstacles facing voters.
