CAIRO - 29 April 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi attended a ceremony held Sunday by the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) to celebrate International Workers' Day.
Egyptian Parliament Speaker Adel Abdel Aal, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayeb and Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark See attended the ceremony along with other elite and high-profile figures.
President Sisi is expected to deliver a speech to the Egyptian workers, "who deem a cornerstone of Egypt's productive wheel."

Moreover, Sisi will honor ten senior members of the ETUF who have affected the labor sector nationwide.
The ten workers are: former Secretary General of the Press Syndicate Mohamed Qotb, Mohamed el-Sayed, Saeed Rabee, Mahmoud Mohamed, Sayed Arafa, Nabil Farouk, Sanaa Zayed, Mohamed Hafez, Talat Ahmed and Mohamed el-Shazly.

During the inauguration of the first phase of construction of the Mediterranean city of New Alamein in March, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi ordered to finish the procedures of the insurance policies for temporary and seasonal workers "daily workers" within 15 days.
On February 8, President Sisi ordered the Egyptian government to protect seasonal workers' rights and to search for alternatives that provide them with health insurance, clarifying that Egypt will pass a law for seasonal labor according to their needs.
