In pics: Patriarch Theodore II heads St. George Ceremony

CAIRO – 28 April 2018: Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria headed the ceremony of St. George Feast Day at the Church of St. George in Old Cairo on Friday.

The ceremony was attended by Greek Ambassador to Egypt Michael-Christos Diamessis and a number of public figures. Several members of Egypt’s foreign communities also participated in the celebration.

St. George was an early Christian martyr who became an ideal of martial selflessness during the Middle Ages.
