Aboul Fetouh did not suffer heart attack: security source

CAIRO - 23 April 2018: Egyptian government denied media reports claiming that the Islamist politician Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh has suffered a heart attack at his detention, an official from the Ministry of Interior told Egypt Today on condition of anonymity on Monday.

The official accused the banned group of the Muslim Brotherhood of inciting Fetouh’s family to spread such “rumors.”

"Aboul Fotouh is in good health, and his family visits him in accordance with the security rules and regulations," he said.

Former Presidential candidate and politician Hamdeen Sabahi posted on his Facebook page   Aboul Fetouh came down with a heart attack, Russia Today reported on Sunday.

Aboul Fetouh, and 15 others to a list of wanted "terrorists" over his links to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group. Aboul Fotouh was arrested over six charges, including incitement.

He has been ordered detained for 15 days following an investigation by the National Security prosecution.
