Minister of Justice planning to establish 376 new court halls

CAIRO – 6 May 2017: Minister of Justice Hossam Abdel Rehim requested the General Authority for Courts Buildings to prepare a plan to increase the numbers of criminal, cassation and appellate court halls, sources at the ministry announced Friday.

The plan aims at building 376 halls; 8 halls per court, which is stipulated by the new amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure, ratified by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

The new halls will deal with criminal and terrorism-related cases. The plan includes 47 courts across the country
The number of judiciary staff will increase as part of the plan.
