PARIS - 30 March 2018: Former Arab League (AL) secretary general and foreign minister Amr Moussa lauded Thursday the new aspects of the Egyptian-French relations in various fields.
Moussa made the remark during a symposium held at the Institute of Geopolitical Studies here Thursday in the presence of former Egyptian and French ministers.
Moussa's speech, delivered during the event, took up Egypt's role in formulating the future of the Middle East in addition to cooperation among the Mediterranean Sea countries.
He said joint ties began in modern history, precisely in 1798 when Napoleon Bonaparte invaded the country.
Moussa underscored that despite the French invasion has been rebuffed, it helped transfer Egypt into ages of enlightenment.
He asserted that discussions during drafting the Egyptian constitution focused on the constitutional principles which France adopted in its constitution and democratic march.
