CAIRO – 4 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will leave Sunday for Kuwait, kicking off an official tour of the Gulf States that will also take him to Bahrain.
Sisi will hold a summit with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Ahmad al-Sabah for two days after his visit to the UAE. The Egyptian president will discuss strengthening bilateral relations on regional issues. He will then travel to Bahrain to meet King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa as well as major officials there.
Sisi returned to Cairo early Thursday after a two-day visit to the UAE, where he met Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Egyptian president was accompanied by high-profile Egyptian officials, including Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
Sisi's visit comes 24 hours after the Abu Dhabi meeting between Fayez al-Sarraj, head of Libya's U.N.-backed Government of National Accord, and Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Eastern “Operation Dignity” forces.
