Moussa’s campaign 'relies' on Egyptians voting in Gulf

CAIRO – 14 March 2018: Moussa Mostafa Moussa’s electoral campaign is heavily reliant on the Gulf countries during the presidential election for having the highest percentage of the Egyptian expats, according to Moussa’s Legal Advisor Samir Aliwa.

He added that the campaign’s delegates can be found in several countries with the highest amount of Egyptian expats.

Aliwa told Egypt Today that Moussa enjoys a massive popularity in Algeria where he worked for many years, and he also has good relations with the Egyptian expatriates in the Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

In this regard, Moussa revealed his plan to garner the Egyptian votes abroad, referring that it would be difficult to hold conferences with Egyptians abroad due to the absence of the necessary preparations, but his campaign will elucidatehis program to the Egyptian expatriates.

Moussa told Egypt Today on Wednesday that the campaign has finished all the necessary legal measures before the beginning of the presidential election abroad.
“I hope to see high Egyptian voters' turnout at the ballot boxes,” said Moussa, adding that his program will achieve the hopes of Egyptians abroad.

The NEA announced that the voting process in the 2018 presidential election will start inside Egypt on March 26, in a televised statement on January 8.

Sixty million eligible voters will cast their ballots in the election on March 26-28 in Egypt, while expatriates will vote on March 16-18 at 139 polling stations located in embassies and consulates of 124 countries, said Lashin Ibrahim in a press conference.

The primary results of the first round of the election will be announced on March 29, where decisions on appeals submitted by candidates, if any, will be made.
The final results of the first round will be announced on April 2.
