GAZA CITY - 13 March 2018: Prime Minister Rami al Hamdallah on Tuesday said that an attack against his motorcade while he was heading for the Gaza Strip will add to his determination to attain inter-Palestinian reconciliation.
In his speech while inaugurating a sanitary water recycling plant in the strip, he added that he will return to the strip once again despite the blast that targeted his motorcade earlier in the day.
Hamdallah was accompanied by head of the Palestinian Intelligence Service Majed Faraj when the attack took place.
He said that it is high time that the international community work to end the suffering of Gaza residents and stop dealing with Israel as being above the law.
In his speech, Hamdalla added that the Palestinian government only asks Hamas movement not to give Israel the chance to capitalize on inter-Palestinian division and consider the Gaza Strip an isolated part of the Palestinian homeland.
He added that the Palestinian government is working to rescue Gaza against all dangers besetting it.
The big conspiracy and the attempt to separate the Gaza Strip from the West Bank should not succeed, he stressed.
Hamdallah said that his government is ready to meet all needs in the Gaza Strip as it is doing in the West Bank.
He further added that he came to Gaza for establishing a pillar of the state and to take part in launching a national and humanitarian project through inaugurating a sanitary water recycling plant.
He thanked the World Bank, the European Union, France, Sweden and Belgium for extending financial and technical support to the project.
However, the Palestinian factions and political powers on Tuesday denounced an attack against the motorcade of Palestinian Prime Minister that took place earlier in the day while entering the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian presidency spokesman Nabil Abu Rudina, in press statements, said that there is a plot against the Palestinian people.
President Mahmud Abbas will hold meetings over the coming days to take the appropriate decisions on this score, added the spokesman.
Meanwhile, Hamas movement condemned the attack describing it as a crime that comes as part of attempts to tamper with the security of the Gaza Strip.
Fatah movement asserted its denunciation of the attack describing it as a terrorist act.
Also, head of Fatah movement media office Munir al Gaghoub said that the attack seeks sabotaging all efforts for inter-Palestinian reconciliation.
